Feeling Lucky?

Hello and welcome back! Spring has almost sprung and that means that we have some awesome holidays coming up that will provide us with endless opportunities for crafting and D.I.Y. projects! The first big spring holiday is St. Patrick’s Day, which gives crafters an abundance of chances to design, create, and decorate their homes and home décor to bring the luck of the Irish right through their front door!

The mantle is a great place to start decorating in your home for St. Patrick’s Day, it’s out of the way yet it draws the eyes of your guests if decorated in a way that commands attention. Some great décor items for your mantle are word or letter blocks that can spell out clever St. Patty’s sayings and convey whatever personal message you would like! Miniature flower pots, as well as mason jars, are also great items to decorate for your mantle or the tables in your home! They are so versatile and can be decorated in so many ways that the possibilities are truly endless! Try making flower-pots of gold or even try flipping the pot upside down to paint mini decorative leprechaun hats! Mason jars can be painted in an endless number of ways to follow any St. Patty’s Day theme that you can think of like gold, shamrocks, or even the Irish flag! If you don’t have a mantle to decorate, you can somewhat make your own by hanging a wooden shelf on the wall to hold your decorative items in the same way that a mantle would! Another great way to decorate your space for St. Patrick’s Day is with any standard picture frame. The great thing about decorating picture frames is that you can design and decorate the outside of the frame to match the picture that will be housed inside. So, if you know that your kids will be dressing up as leprechauns (or at least wearing green) on St. Patrick’s Day and taking a picture, decorating a picture frame with four-leafed clovers, pots of gold, and rainbows around the rails of the frame will be a great way to craft together as a family and remember all of the fun you had on St. Patrick’s Day!

We want to see how you are decorating your space for St. Patrick’s Day! Share a photo of you and your family enjoying St. Patrick’s Day or your St. Patrick’s Day décor along with #ushcDIY and maybe you’ll be ‘lucky’ enough to be featured on our social media pages!
