Beating the Heat + Our Summer Favorites!

Hello and welcome back! Summer is heating up and in this post, we want to get you geared up for summer and give you some ideas for great summer D.I.Y. crafts that will enhance your summer home décor and may even give your kids some fun activities to do during the dog days of summer as well. Summer is a great time to get stuff done around your home. The days are longer, the weather is nicer, and people tend to be in better and more productive moods. Summer also comes with a great aesthetic look to it that screams creativity. There are so many different summer themes when it comes to crafting and D.I.Y. projects such as beach themes, flowers, sunshine, and so much more. The world is teeming with life and your home summer craft and D.I.Y. projects are waiting to reflect that! Also, now that schools are out for the summer, finding things to keep your kids busy is more important than ever. Parents need positive and constructive activities to keep their children’s minds engaged rather than letting them melt away by watching television or playing video games. Playing outside works very well but what about the occasional rainy day or when all of their friends are busy with other things? That is where crafting can come into play!

Summer is all about creating memories that will last a lifetime, so what better way to remember those great memories than with pictures? And what better way to house those wonderful pictures than with a hand-decorated picture frame? For example, if you go on a yearly beach vacation with your family, you more than likely search the beach for unique seashells to collect. Rather than just throwing them away or letting them sit in a box, why not use them to decorate the border of the picture frame that houses your annual family beach photo? You can try the same concept with any number of summer-themed items such as flowers, popsicle sticks, or anything else that symbolizes summer to you! Another great summer theme is the 4th of July. There are endless possibilities when it comes to 4th of July décor and craft themes, whether it is stars and stripes, red, white, and blue or even Uncle Sam! For example, turn the monogram letter on your front door into a patriotic wreath decorated with any combination of the above-mentioned themes to add some patriotic pop to your home for all to see! Summer truly is a time of endless possibilities when it comes to your home décor and crafting projects, all it takes is a little creativity and imagination!
